Demitry was designed around the contrast between physical strength and softness. He has a large, powerful build with broad shoulders, heavy arms and the kind of physique that could easily read as intimidating. I wanted to deliberately work against that expectation through the way he holds himself.
His posture is relaxed rather than dominant. There is weight to him, but very little aggression. The softer expression, body language and overall shape language make him feel more like somebody you would instinctively trust than somebody preparing for a fight. Essentially, he is built like he could throw someone through a wall, but gives off much stronger teddy bear energy.
That balance was important to his character design. Strength does not automatically have to mean hardness, aggression or emotional distance. Demitry’s masculinity is allowed to feel warm, comfortable and mature while still being very obviously physical. His proportions also lean deliberately into a fuller, adult male body rather than an extremely lean heroic physique. I wanted him to feel solid and lived-in, with muscle, body hair and softness existing together rather than treating them as opposing traits.
Demitry’s design is ultimately about making physical strength feel comforting rather than threatening.
